5th-Rising 8th Where? Asheville Location TBA When? June 23-27 Monday-Friday 10-3:00 $150 Click Here to Register! Through this five-day intensive workshop, we will explore our stories and delve deep into what matters most to us, learning along the way techniques for drawing up inspiration, improving our unique writing styles, and building strong performance presences. Spoken-Word poetry is the child of ancient storytelling rituals, jazz, and hip-hop; it is an art form that both transforms individuals and strengthens communities. Taught by Griffin Payne,a professional spoken-word artist who has performed and been published internationally, participants will learn not only how to spit fire, but how to become effective truth-tellers; will learn not only how to dazzle an audience, but how to create individual and collective change through the power of the spoken-word. Be a part of the magic. Share your stories and have a riotously good time while making the world a better, richer place. |
