All True Ink Programs:

  • are experiential, fun and surprising, with lots of pre-writing activities, discussion, and creative experiences to access left and right brain process.
  • empower young people to think like writers and think of themselves as writers.
  • are workshop based.
  • focus on creative process and writing craft.
  • encourage a supportive writing community where members help each other to “unpack” their stories, poems or essays and offer specific, non-judgmental observations.
  • model revision as a part of the creative process using an inquiry-based method.
  • teach conventions (grammar, spelling etc) as important tools to be considered in later drafts.
  •   use model texts from age appropriate writing.
  •  provide an opportunity to share creative work with friends and family at a public reading and through a variety of True Ink-sponsored publications
